But I'm Going To The Disco So I Wear Chanel

(F/W 2009, 1991, 1972, and Spring 2009)
A few of my favorite Chanel ads from seasons past.  One of my best friends is going to be traveling to Paris in a few weeks and is set to return with her very own Chanel 2.55....I am soooooo jealous!  When I am rich one day from my successful career as a...nonprofit worker, I will absolutely have one, two, or ten of my own!

Rainy Day Women

(shirt: boyfriend's, cardi and necklace: F21, tights: Urban Outfitters, boots: Alloy)
These pictures are a few months old, from an outfit shoot I did on one of our chillier early spring days in
Bloomington.  I am having a hard time leaving these boots in the closet for the summer, as they are pretty much my absolute favorite!  When I am feeling lazy about my outfits I tend to turn to my menswear staples, like this oversized shirt, as such items can be both chic and utterly effortless.

Shaken, Not Stirred

(via bond-girls.net, Starlet Showcase)
Sorry for the cliche title, but I have a thing for martinis, so it seemed apropos.  I love 007 films, and of course that means that not only do I have a favorite Bond, (Connery, duh), but I have a couple of favorite Bond Girls.  First on the list is the lovely Claudine Auger, who played Domino in Thunderball.  She was the epitome of 60's sex-bomb in that film, and how great is that lace body suit à la current American Apparel?  In a close second is Jane Seymour, who played Solitaire in Live and Let Die.  She is such a natural beauty in this film, so much so that it almost helps me forget those dresses she wore in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

It's Witchcraft!

OMG how AMAZING is this video from Wildfox featuring their Fall 2010 collection?  The line has this awesome, witchcraft theme that is reminiscent of two of my favorite films EVER, Practical Magic and of course, The Craft.  I cannot wait to get my hands on some of these pieces!

MANIAMANIA

(via MANIAMANIA)
How beautiful are these pieces from MANIAMANIA?!  The line of gorgeous jewelry is the brain child of Tamila Purvis and Melanie Kamsler, both who once worked for the beloved Russh Magazine.  I love the raw and earthy feel of the collection, which includes brass pieces that look like drift wood, as well as pieces accented with rough quartz!  Check out their site here.

All Was Golden In The Sky

(via fuckyeahskinnybitch, style stalker, ilovewildfox, vogue)
Oh haaaaayyyyy summer!  You are finally here!  After what seemed like an eternity of cold, stormy days, (apparently I had forgotten that Kentucky has a severe monsoon season), the sun has decided to rear its lovely head!  We are looking at high 80s for a while now, so what better way to celebrate than with some serious summer inspiration?!

Endless Summer

(via Teen Vogue)
I just got my June issue of Teen Vogue in the mail and this shoot of Amanda Seyfried has me itching for the beach!  How utterly classic is that first bathing suit?  The fact that I am taking a five week trip to Europe this fall with my sweetheart has me fantasizing about lounging in every one of these pieces on European beaches!

Light As A Feather, Stiff As A Board

The Craft came on t.v. and I was immediately overcome with the most awesome sense of nostalgia!  How AMAZING is this movie?  It's like the weird girl's Clueless and has been one of my favorites for such a long time.  I am utterly terrified of scary films, and while I'm sure many of you are scoffing at me, as the film is only mildly creepy, I consider it a big accomplishment that I can get through this relic of 90's teendom.  Plus, as an added bonus it is laden with amazing studded jewelry and clothing, cross earrings, and overall 90's awesomeness.

Glitter In My Veins

(via Roger Weiss, Tumblr, ...look closer, Doo.Ri)
I have a serious thing for glitter.  I'm pretty sure this obsession began approximately at birth, and has persisted for the following 22 years pretty consistently.  In fact, right this very second I have sparkly red nail polish (China Glaze in Ruby Pumps) on my toes.  Anyone remember when the Spice Girls inspired all of us to roll body glitter over every inch of our bodies?  I know I rocked this look more than once.  And how amazing are those sparkly, wine tinted lips that the models donned at Doo.Ri's Fall 2010 show?!  Loooovvvveeeee.

Let Them Eat Cake!

(via vogue)
Who could forget this gem of a shoot from the September 2006 issue of Vogue?  Kirsten Dunst posed as Marie Antoinette for Annie Leibovitz at the Palace of Versailles, and let me tell you this shoot and the movie combined totally rocked my world.  Both are truly visual feasts!

Oh How The Mighty Have Fallen

(via New York Magazine, Vanity Fair)
Ok, I guess it's time to just come out with it.  My name is Rachel and I am a Lindsay Lohan fan.  I know, I can feel you judging me as you read, and I don't blame you.  But remember when she was all semi-innocent and beautiful, like in the pictures above?  I think I still try to hold on to that version of Lindsay.

But this is the new Lindsay....and as long as she is as awesome as she is depicted to be in this Elle UK photo shoot...well then I kinda love it.
