Weekend Warrior

Basically my new weekend uniform, I never want to take it off.  And the bag?  I know you want to ask about that beautiful bag.  Well you know those lovelies over at the Vogue Influencer Network?  They paired up with Brahmin and sent over that gorgeous Anytime Tote from their new Summer 2011 line.  How. beautiful. is. that. bag?  I KNOW!  The leather is exquisite and it smells so, so yummy, and it came at the perfect time because guess what....

Yep, that's right, and that gorgeous Brahmin Anytime Tote will be coming with me in 2.5 weeks as I embark on the most exciting adventure of my life thus far!  So dolls, it looks like we'll be relocating, but that doesn't mean this blog will lose its Kentucky charm!

Ok, don't make fun of me but....HOW COOL IS THIS?!  I know, I know, I totally look like a super tech savvy photo person {mwahaha, looks like I have you fooled}.  Try not to absolutely keel over laughing at my overly dramatic "oh my lawdy I do believe I may faint" pose, but I kind of think it's working for me. The look is inspired by a photo of my best friend's grandmother, who was absolutely doing the high midriff justice in the 1940s {a look that can also be found over here}.  I truly hope everyone has a wonderful new year!

Something Tells Me It's All Happening At The Zoo

So here it is, my very first attempt at taking my own photos!  I did it all sans tripod or remote, so it took quite a while.  Not too bad, huh?  I know it has been ages since I last posted, but I have been very busy and particularly uninspired, and I refuse to put up a post that I am not 100% about.  These were taken right before our family trip to the zoo, which is a bit hilarious considering it was me, aged 22, and my parents, surrounded by families with very young, crying children.  I know there isn't much to it, but I love these simple, classic outfits.  Thanks to Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere for putting up this great tutorial that I used to make this super cute hairdo! 

Sam and I leave on our big European adventure in only 10 days, and I am getting insanely excited!  If anyone has any tips on must see sites or great restaurants, please share!

Dog Days Are Over

Why do I looks so sad in all of these photos?!  I swear I'm happy, I guess I just have sad eyes.  I wore this yesterday mainly around the house, considering it was gloomy and I didn't want to leave, (plus, Bravo reruns of Rachel Zoe Project were calling me).  I love me a good oversized men's shirt, it's just so easy and effortless!  And these socks are just so adorable, they make me feel like I'm in Clueless!  The little fur ball who is crashing most of these photos is Duncan, who previously showed off his questionable sense of style here.  Please excuse his scraggly appearance, he is actually being groomed as I type.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

The Storm Before The Calm

Yesterday I had my first day off work in a while, which means I finally got to pick out my own outfit!  It was a pretty uneventful and stormy day, spent taking Duncan to the vet and my sister shopping, so I opted for something basic.  These are a pair of my favorite shoes, which I have absolutely worn to death.  I know you have seen them before, but I added these stirrup-like wraps made out of cut stockings as an ode to those beautiful Fendis, and also because I totally managed to break these shoes and I thought it would be the best way to keep it cute while securing them to my feet!  I don't think I ever mentioned this, but I live in the woods, which makes for great outfit post settings!  Well, I am about to hit up the pool with one of my bests and enjoy our temporary break from this southern rain!  I hope you all enjoy your day, and remember to follow me on bloglovin!

Rose Tint My World

I often struggle with compiling outfits for nights out on the town during the summer.  My natural tendency to gravitate towards light colors and airy fabrics during the warmer seasons directly conflicts with my desire to dress up my outfit with night-time appropriate pieces.  But I think this outfit is the perfect solution to this debacle!  I love the sweet, rosy shade of this dress, (which is actually a wrap skirt), and the fabric is perfectly forgiving for hot summer nights.  Combined with the black blazer and grey heels it is transformed into a nighttime appropriate ensemble perfect for a dinner date or even the clubs!
I am finally feeling 100% after almost a week of yuckiness!  I had a fantastic holiday weekend spent with S by the pool, at street festivals, and even an Eric Clapton concert!  I hope everyones weekend was as great as mine.  What did you all do?

Here are some shots taken while goofing around Miranda's incredibly versatile house!  Sorry for the vast differences in lighting and exposure, some were taken outside, while others were shot in her basement.  I love love LOVE this outfit as it is so simple but makes me feel so well put together.  The shoes remind me of these YSL pumps, but were a miniscule fraction of the price!  I am finally feeling a bit better, but I'm a bit down because I wasn't able to work at all this week due to my sickness.  But this weekend should be the cure all because I'm going to visit S in Indianapolis for the 4th!  I hope you all are having a wonderful day, and I plan on posting some silly outtake from this shoot soon.

Yuppie Puppy

Yup, that's right, my dog is incredibly fashionable as well.  Let it be known that I am not one of those people who dresses up their dog, that's just demeaning.  Duncan did this himself, upon his own free will...I fear he wants to be a yuppie.  I wanted to post pictures from an outfit shoot today, but I am sick and would much rather sit on the couch in my fuzzy socks, popping advil and drinking yummy tea.  So I hope Duncan can provide you with some inspiration to tide you over!  Oh and just so you know, his sweater is J.Crew.
