{bliss}

Now is the time to really revel in interior design porn, as I move into my new apartment in Chicago on....wait for it....Monday!  These photos best reflect what I'm digging at this moment with black and white interiors, hardwood floors, touches of gold, rustic elements, and pops of bright colors!  I am so excited to get settled in and make my place my own, as I will need a bit of a haven during this stressful yet exciting period.
Wish me luck, loves!

Just For Fun

Oh hi Kentucky rain, you're just in time for me to leave.  One week and counting and this Kentucky girl will be off on a new adventure.  Sorry for neglecting the blog, it seems that moving is one of the more daunting tasks I've ever faced, and I've been spending my days draining my bank account, {because I need a giant bust of Buddha}, and my nights laughing with lifelong friends.

Weekend Warrior

{Shirt, trench, shorts, hat, necklace, sunnies: F21, bag: Brahmin Anytime Tote, bra: Victoria's Secret, shoes: Charles David, bracelet: vintage}

Basically my new weekend uniform, I never want to take it off.  And the bag?  I know you want to ask about that beautiful bag.  Well you know those lovelies over at the Vogue Influencer Network?  They paired up with Brahmin and sent over that gorgeous Anytime Tote from their new Summer 2011 line.  How. beautiful. is. that. bag?  I KNOW!  The leather is exquisite and it smells so, so yummy, and it came at the perfect time because guess what....
{No really, guess what...}

I GOT THE BIG GIRL JOB IN CHICAGO!

Yep, that's right, and that gorgeous Brahmin Anytime Tote will be coming with me in 2.5 weeks as I embark on the most exciting adventure of my life thus far!  So dolls, it looks like we'll be relocating, but that doesn't mean this blog will lose its Kentucky charm!

Hello

Today I'm a little bit nervous, big girl life and such stuff.  I feel like these sunglasses would give me the kind of confidence I need, perhaps it's time to whip out the Jackie O shades?

Wish me luck, loves!

Esprit d'Oscar

I love when a designer takes their signature scents and updates them for the modern woman.  Esprit d'Oscar, the new scent from Oscar de la Renta, is a modernized version of the classic fragrance OSCAR, which was released in 1977 as a means of capturing the very essence of his beautiful fashion designs.  The AMAZING {no seriously guys, incredible}, Vogue Influencer Network asked me to try Esprit d'Oscar and let you all know what I think!  While I am no fragrance expert, I am quite certain that I know what I like, and have always been a bit of a perfume collector.
This beautiful scent is incredibly floral, and is described as having hints of Sicilian Lemon, tuberose {huh?}, and vetiver {whaaaaa?}.  While I don't know what most of those things are, I can tell you that Esprit d'Oscar is an elegant, feminine perfume designed for the fragrance lover.  It is very distinct and mature, and like most high end perfumes, strong enough that one spray will suffice.  I am so grateful to the Vogue Influencer Network for letting me try this beautiful fragrance, one that is sure to become a staple on vanities all over the world.

I Just Want To Tell You Nothing

{via Fashion Gone Rogue}

Once again, when I'm down I find myself drawn back to supergirl inspired editorials, {gotta stop being so predictable, little Miss Rachel}.  These photos of Missy Rayder, shot by Thomas Klementsson for Intermission, embody such a sense of empowerment while maintaining an undeniable sex appeal that makes them both impactful and accessible at the same time.  The sheer capes are feminine and delicate, while that alligator print body suit, the cut-out suede, and that bizarre shredded dress demand your attention and create a look that only a strong, self-assured woman could pull off.  In short, I'm totally in love.
I know I've been a bad blogger as of late, and I am so, so sorry to leave you dolls floating aimlessly through the blogosphere.  I've been channeling most of my energy into finding the dream job in Chicago, a process that is so exciting and yet completely draining.  I'll do my best to keep from neglecting you all, and hope you all will try to stick it out.  I have a feeling that it will be well worth it in the end!

When I Grow Up

{via knight cat, ...look closer, we heart it}

On this Inspiration Humpday my nerves are too overwhelming due to the exciting things to come in the upcoming days, that I can't imagine writing anything close to coherent, let alone inspiring.  So, darlings, I'll leave you with a big thank you for reading, and this quote:

"I'll be very very sexy under 18 pounds of chiffon and lace and velvet. And nobody will know what I really am.  I will have a mystique."

Kate Moss, So Faraway

Remember a few weeks ago when I was obsessing over this incredible campaign that Kate Moss is starring in for Longchamp? {the green dress, I can't stop thinking about that amazing green dress!}  Well thanks to the ever incredible Vogue Influencer Network,  I can now present you with an exclusive trailer for the full-length film "Faraway", starring the flawless Kate Moss in the spirit of her collaboration with the iconic Longchamp.  That dress, the desert {my fav!}, and Nancy Sinatra's sultry voice all make for spring time perfection, in my personal opinion.  Enjoy, and thank you to the Vogue Influencer Network for making this possible!

She's Like A Rainbow

{via we heart it, yo! vintage, and "I suck at recording photo sources"}

This Inspirational Humpday is brought to you by the harsh realization that grown ups don't get spring break.  This means no mid-March week dedicated to sunny weather, jean cutoffs, good books, sand, or fireworks, {both the literal and kissing induced ones}.  I'm pretty much determined to find a way to enjoy all of these things despite, {or in spite of}, adulthood, so who's with me?!  Here's to good friends, warm weather, great tunes, and never settling for anything less than butterflies!

Starving For An Argument

 As I am most likely the only fashion blogger in the blogosphere that holds a degree in Jewish Studies, {"what exactly are you planning on doing with that degree?"}, it seems only natural that I lend a word on this horrifying John Galliano mess.
 As you all know, Mr. Galliano was arrested in Paris for making anti-Jewish remarks in a bar, and shortly after his arrest The Sun obtained a video recording of Galliano on a similar tirade from late last year.  There is no excuse for this behavior, and I applaud France for having a no-tolerance policy on such hateful actions.  From the moment I watched the documentary Catwalk for the first time, I fell in love with Galliano and his uniquely theatrical designs and runway shows.  The man is an inspirational designer with an obvious flair for the dramatic.  Which leads me to my point, that it is overwhelmingly evident that Galliano's anti-Jewish remarks were primarily the drunken babbles of a sad and attention hungry man.  For Galliano to be a Hitler sympathizer would be the most hypocritical, self-damning action the man could make.  He is an openly gay man, {named one of Britain's most influential gay people}, who, because of this, would have been a direct target in Hitler's Final Solution.  This fact alone reveals that Galliano's remarks about loving Hitler were only for his love of shock-factor. I cannot attest to the validity of his anti-Jewish remarks, but would hope that he would not harbor such hateful feelings when he is employed in an industry that was revived in the post WWII era by Jews, {i.e. Ralph Lauren,  Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole and Michael Kors}.

From the video of his earliest outburst it is evident that Galliano was entirely intoxicated, if not deranged, and it is clear that he has a series of serious problems that desperately need to be addressed.  I admire the Dior fashion house for realizing that talent and genius are sullied by hatred, and I hope that this industry that I love so much will continue to work to create beauty and eliminate intolerance.

Dust Bowl Dance

{via we heart it, tfs}
I'm lacking much rhyme or reason today, feeling a bit like laying around in pretty, barely-there things and enjoying the sunshine.  One of my many new years resolutions was to replace my collection of ratty sweat pants with more delicate, sweet, lacy/satiny/cottony sleep-things, {I think I'd enjoy sleeping that much more}, and these pictures just remind me of that promise.  Oh, and breakfast, my favorite meal ever.
 {I judge people based on how they take their eggs}
Happy Inspirational Humpday, darlings!
